NAIAS Auto Show

Home Up

We got up bright and early Sunday, January 20th to drive down to Detroit to attend the North American International Auto Show. We got there about 8:45am for the 9:00 opening. The nice thing about getting there early was that parking under Cobo Hall was available. We spent a couple hours walking around checking out the cars, especially the GM displays focusing on any vehicle that seats 7 or more. The crowds are definitely smaller at this time of day too.

The Buick Riviera concept car, direct from China. The Cadillac CTS coupe concept.
The Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee car from the Transformers movie. The Speed Racer car from the new movie coming out.

After leaving the show Tara and I took the kids on the Detroit People Mover for a ride around the city. We stopped off at Greektown, where we went to Pizza Papalis for lunch. The kids got to make their own pizzas right at the table, and Tara and I got a deep dish pizza. Just before we finished Tara spotted one of Sam's friends coming down the street with her family, so we made sure to say hi before heading back to the People Mover to head back to the van to head home.

Tyler taking a bite of his pizza. Tyler took this picture of Tara - as you can see she wasn't ready to say "cheese".
Tyler also took this picture of Sam with a straw stuck on her tooth.
