Another heartbreaking loss today for the Cardinals. The
kids played a great game overall, but it just fell apart for them at the wrong
time. On a personal level, Tyler had a so-so game. No strikeouts today, but no
hits either - just walks. He didn't have any balls come his way while playing in
the field today. Regarding the game... it was tied at 10 runs apiece, but once
again we just couldn't get the final necessary out in the final inning. This
time it was a very simple play that did us in. We had just completed a strikeout
of the opposing batter for out number two when the throw from the catcher to the
pitcher got by, and the runner on third ended up stealing home for the winning
run. I think our kids were a little heartbroken by this, but those are the
breaks we create for ourselves sometimes... Maybe we will finally break through
the win column next week.
