Game 5

Home Up

After last weekends 7-3 debacle, it didn't appear as though things were going to change today. The girls appeared to be sluggish throughout the first half, Samantha included. They did get a few shots on goal, including a long distance shot by Sam that just sailed over the crossbar, but they weren't able to get one past the Crush goal keeper. They had some defensive lapses as well, and it cost them on two different occasions, and they wound up trailing at halftime 2-0. The second half was a different story, and this time in a positive way. The girls came out strong, and netted a quick goal to draw themselves within one. After some back and forth play they managed to get the tying goal, knotting the score at 2 apiece. With less than five minutes remaining in the game they really put the pressure on, and they finally managed to score the go ahead goal. It took some defensive effort from not only Sam, who was in goal the second half today, but all of the girls to help secure the first regular season win for the La Forza White Ice team! Way to go girls! You deserve it, and many more!
