    The girls cruised to an easy victory when they played the other Lapeer middle school last week, and for a while it appeared that this game was going to be a repeat of that one. The girls held on to a 6-1 lead after the first quarter, and were controlling the action on both ends of the floor. The second quarter was a different story, however, as one of the Lapeer players got hot with her shot, and the Bronchos wound up trailing 10-11 at halftime. The lady Bronchos came out strong after halftime, however, grabbed the lead, and never looked back. In fact, the Lapeer team scored only 2 points in the second half, and the Bronchos cruised to a 22-13 victory. That gives the girls a 5-1 record on the season, with some tough games left to play. The only drawback to today's game was that their leading scorer went out with an injury in the third quarter. To take something positive away from that, they did manage to not only hold the lead but expand it while she was on the bench. Great job girls!

    Samantha played her usual strong defense today. While she didn't score, she did a fine job of handling the ball when tasked with that job. She made a couple of errant passes while leading the fast break, but with time and practice she will learn to play the angles a little better on the break. All in all, it was a great game for both Samantha and her Bronchos teammates.
