Game two for Samantha's basketball team looked like it was
going to be a lot like the first game - close throughout. They fell behind early
4-8, but fought back to take the lead at halftime 12-10. The second half was all
Oxford Bank, as they pulled away and never looked back. By the time it was all
over, they had secured their first victory of the year with a 28-14 defeat of
the Mark Carney State Farm team.
Sam had a decent game overall, but she threw away a few
too many passes for my taste. She did play some good aggressive defense, which
helped make up for her passing mistakes. She made some nice passes too, so it
wasn't all bad while playing guard. She wound up with 2 points on the day,
although a few other shots just missed. After a couple of weeks of practice
before their next games, things should be looking up!

Sam had a few good looks at the baskets today, including this
basket.

Here is another shot of Sam dribbling the ball up the court.

Sam getting a shot off over a defenders arms (despite what it
looks like, the rim behind the ball isn't the rim they are playing
on...).

Sam got back on defense ahead of her teammates on this play.

|
Sam did a good job of playing pressure defense throughout the
game...

...contesting passes and shots.

The final score was a resounding 28-14 victory, the first of the
