This morning's game against Swartz Creek in the Montrose
Tournament marked Samantha's return to the soccer field after
missing the previous three games while her fractured wrist did some
healing. After a follow-up x-ray and having a cast put on, she was
officially given the OK to play. While she got the start in today's
game, liberal substitutions kept her fresh after sitting out for
nearly two weeks. Unfortunately for the Bronchos there wasn't much
of an offensive attack in today's game, as they only managed a
single shot on goal (and that came on a direct kick). Even though
the ball was in their defensive zone for a majority of the contest,
they played pretty strong defense overall. In fact, the team had to
feel pretty good going in to halftime only trailing 1-0. The second
half followed that pattern, and Swartz Creek was able to score once
more to wrap up the game with a 2-0 score. |
