| Samantha and her Holly Bronchos teammates returned to the field
after a brief break to take on the Kearsley Hornets. This game ended
up not being much of a contest, as the Bronchos found the back of
the net early and often in the first half. With the games consisting
of 30 minute halves, the girls got on the board less than four
minutes in. Samantha scored her first goal of the season less than
five minutes later. The team continued to score, cruising to a 7-0
halftime lead despite playing plenty of girls out of position and
putting the backup keeper in goal. In fact, the Holly keepers only
faced two shots on goal for the half. The second half followed the
pattern of the first, with Holly scoring first, this time just over
three minutes in. That goal gave Holly an 8-0 lead, invoking the
mercy rule in the process and giving them a long break before their
next contest. |
