Game 8

Samantha's senior baseball team played a makeup game early on a Saturday morning, after the previous contest was postponed due to the opposition having too few players to field a team. They probably should have left the game in a postponed status, as the Holly team didn't look like they wanted to be there this morning. Linden got out to a quick 5-o lead after an inning and a half before Holly finally showed any signs of life, scoring their first run of the game with two outs in the bottom of the second. Linden answered big time, this time with a big 5 run inning to grab a commanding 10-1 lead. Holly had no answer, and a 2-0 Linden inning handed them the mercy victory.

Samantha played fine defensively today, but didn't have her best day at the plate. Her first appearance resulted in a strikeout after she fouled one off before swinging at a high pitch that would have been a ball. She made good contact with the ball during her second at-bat, but after driving the ball towards second base she was unable to beat out the throw. In the end, those were her only two chances to help the team out at the plate today.
