Game #2

11:40am
Southgate Arena 1st 2nd 3rd Final
'05 Lapeer Storm 0 0 0 0
Cleveland Heights 1 1 1 1 1 1 6

Drew and his teammates were ready to get their first Motown Cup victory today, and for a while it looked like they might be able to do it. Despite the Cleveland Heights team dominating play for most of the opening period, the Storm team only found themselves down a single goal when it ended. The second period looked like more of the same from the stands, with the team from Cleveland controlling the majority of the action. While the Storm team managed to get a couple of good looks at the goal, they weren't able to take advantage of any of their chances while at the other end of the ice the Cleveland team was, as they widened their lead to 3 goals by the end of the second. They opened up the floodgates in the third, matching their scoring output of the first two periods to put the game out of reach for the Storm team. When the final whistle sounded it was 6-0 Cleveland in a rout, leaving the Storm team in desperate need of a victory in this afternoon's game.
