Drew's baseball team had their first game of the season on Holly Little League's opening day with a 3:00 game. This is a very young team with the exception of Drew and a couple of his teammates, so we weren't really sure what to expect from their play this year. Today's game got off to a good start, however, as the team played solid defense in the field, and swung the bats well when given the chance. In fact, they scored 5 runs in two out of the three innings played, while plating the maximum 7 in the middle inning, all while holding the opposition to two runs total. The 17-2 score invoked the mercy rule, ending the game early as the Holly 2 team cruised to an easy game one victory!
