Things were looking good early for Drew and his Holly Grey teammates, as they took on a winless Waterford 2 team. They gave up two early runs, but answered back with three of the their own in the bottom of the first, including a run by Drew following a walk. Waterford tied it up in the second, but Holly stormed back with 7 runs of their own (including another run by Drew, who was walked and stole second, third, and home to score once again). The two teams traded a pair of runs in the second to keep the 7 run Holly lead. Things went downhill from Holly from there, as the Holly coaches put in a first time pitcher for the fourth inning. He gave up 5 runs to narrow the gap, and Holly answered back with two runs to make it a 14-10 game. The same pitcher returned for the fifth inning, and he gave up three runs and left the bases loaded when a pitching change was made. Unfortunately the momentum had swung to Waterford at that point, and they went on to score enough runs to grab a one run lead. Holly had a chance to bat in the bottom of the fifth, but they couldn't muster much of an attack. The Holly loss gave Waterford their first win of the season, and dropped Holly to one game under .500 on the season.
