Drew and his Novi FireCats teammates travelled to Rochester to
face off against the Rattlers team in a rematch of their previous
2-2 tie. This time the FireCats were ready from the opening faceoff,
controlling play for a majority of the game. Although it took a
while, they were able to take the lead with the first goal of the
game, scoring at the 2:42 mark of the period. That would be it for
the scoring in the opening period, as they were able to take the 1-0
lead into intermission. While the FireCats had a lot of looks in
the first period, they only had the single goal to show for it. They
didn't have that issue in the second period, as they scored their
second goal of the game a mere 20 seconds in, taking a 2-0 lead.
They widened their lead to 3-0 four minutes later with a
short-handed goal. A late Rattlers power-play goal made it 3-1, and
that is the way this period would close.
Both teams traded chances in the third, but neither of them had
any success finding the back of the net. The game would come to an
end, and for the second time in as many games the FireCats would win
by a 3-1 score. Lets go FireCats! |
