Today the Novi FireCats began their second and final tournament
of the spring season, taking on the Wyandotte Warriors in the
opening game of the Last Dance Tournament. Novi started off slow,
giving up a goal minutes into the first period. That would be it for
scoring for the remainder of the period, as both teams spent the
remaining time feeling each other out and trying to figure out each
others weaknesses. Novi got on the board first in the second
period, scoring two goals less than two minutes apart to grab the
lead. Wyandotte found the back of the net a few minutes later to
even things up once again. Novi had an answer, however, retaking the
lead to end the second period.
The FireCats opened up a two goal lead early in the final period,
scoring their goal a few minutes into the third. Wyandotte scored a
power-play goal to narrow the gap to a single goal a little over a
minute later on a power-play. Thankfully for the FireCats, that
would be it for the scoring, as they held on to the 4-3 lead and the
victory. |
