Samantha and her FC Sarasota teammates qualified for the Disney Soccer Showcase at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando over the Thanksgiving weekend. Today marked day one of the tournament for them, and they would face off against a team from Alabama, the Birmingham United AFC Composite.

The two teams were pretty evenly matched, with each taking turns controlling the ball for periods of time. FC Sarasota held a slight edge in shots, but neither team could gain an edge in goals scored, as the match would end in a 0-0 draw. Here's hoping for better luck tomorrow!
