This games marks the second of the day for the Everblades, as
they faced the Miami Toros in an evening contest. This is also the
second game of the day that I would miss, and the second blowout
loss of the day for the Everblades players. The Everblades got off
to a better start in this contest, as they would hold the Toros to a
single goal in the opening period. Unfortunately their offensive
woes continued, and they would trail 1-0 when the period would come
to a close. Things fell apart for the Everblades in the second
period, as they would allow 4 goals to a Toros team that grabbed the
momentum and didn't let go. For the second game in a row, the
Everblades would head into the final intermission down by a 5-0
score.
In their previous game today, the Everblades were able to hold
the opposition scoreless in the final period. They would not have
the same success today, as they would go on to let two more goals
get behind their goalie. The score would be 7-0 when the final
buzzer would sound, and the Everblades were once again on the wrong
end of a shutout.
I should mention that the teams regular goaltender was not
available for today's contest, so a younger goalie was called up to
help out, and may have contributed to the lack of defensive success
for the Everblades. That doesn't explain the offensive struggles,
however... |
