Today's second game pitted Drew and his Jr. Everblades teammates
against the Miami Toros. Like this morning's contest, the Everblades
got off to a fast start, scoring their first goal seconds before the
9 minute mark passed, giving them a 1-0 lead. Unlike this morning,
the Everblades were able to hang on to the lead for a while.
Unfortunately, it didn't last until until the period ended, as the
Toros would score to tie things up with a little under 4 to play in
the period. The first intermission would come with the game still
tied at 1. It was the Toros who would score first this time,
grabbing a 2-1 lead just a couple minutes into the period.
Thankfully the Everblades fought back, tying things up 90 seconds
later with their second goal of the game, knotting the score at 2-2.
That would be it for scoring, as the period would close with the two
teams left to settle things over the final frame.
The third period was kind of an exact copy of the second, as the
Toros got on the board early, reclaiming their lead by a goal. It
took a while for a response from the Everblades, but with just under
two minutes remaining they finally answered back, making it a 3-3
game. Despite some valient efforts from both teams, that would be
how things would end.
Although it wasn't the victory they were looking for, it also was
the first time this season that the Everblades didn't taste defeat.
They came back twice in this game, so here's hoping it will lead to
better things the rest of the season. Way to go Everblades! |
