Game 13

As the Purple Heart tea hosted the girls from the Fenton 2 team, Jayden played the game of her life tonight. Not only did her team win big, but she had her best night at the plate of the season (maybe the last two seasons). Unfortunately her night at the plate wasn't rewarded with a game ball, as her coaches (they are truly a story for another day...) chose someone else for this honor. Oh well, only two more games to deal with them, and then we move on to bigger and better things.

Back to the game... The Holly girls let in three runs in the first inning, but quickly answered back with five of their own. They scored so fast that Jay didn't even see an at-bat in this inning. Holly held Fenton scoreless in the second, and Jay finally got to bat, and she cranked out a single between first and second base. She would eventually come around to score one of her teams four runs, as they would take a 9-3 lead. The Fenton girls scored two 2-out runs before Holly would stop the bleeding, and they would once again max out their run scoring. Jay got her second hit of the game, driving a single past second base. Once again she would come home to score. Holly held Fenton scoreless once again in the fourth, and Jay's third single of the game would allow her to score of her team's five runs this inning. That would be it for this contest, as the time limit was reached and the Purple Heart girls with a 19-5 victory.

To recap: 3 for 3 at the plate, 4 stolen bases, 3 runs scored, and no recognition for her efforts... except from her family - we were extremely proud of her efforts and accomplishments, not only tonight but the entire season. Way to go Jay!
