Today's second game got off to a quick start for the Jr.
Everblades, as they scored on the games opening shot, just 12
seconds in to give them an extremely early lead over the Palm Beach
Hawks. Things slowed down considerably after that first shot,
though, as the two teams took turns dominating the puck. That early
goal would turn out to be the only goal of the period, as the Jr.
Everblades would head into the first intermission with a one goal
lead. Drew and his Jr. Everblades teammates dominated the shots on
goal in the second period, aided by two Hawks penalties, but weren't
able to convert on a single one of their opportunities.
The third period was the opposite of the second stanza, as the
Hawks dominated in shots, as they too were aided by two Everblades
penalties. Thankfully the 'Blades were able to kill them off, and
actually scored their second goal of the game two seconds before the
final penalty expired. They would add on an additional goal with
just over three minutes remaining, salting the game away. The clock
would expire before the Hawks would find the back of the net, giving
the Jr. Everblades just their second victory of the season, and
their first shutout. Way to go Jr. Everblades! |
