The way the two teams are set up in this particular YMCA season
allows for the rosters to be adjusted in an effort to keep the teams
close. After the first game, which was a single goal game, it was
decided that the teams would remain the same for this game. That
meant that Jayden would play with the same teammates and, for the
second week in a row, would wear the blue pennie over her jersey.
The two teams would actually play a very close game today, despite
the final score. Shots on goal were even at 10 apiece, but it was
Jay and her teammates that were able to make the best of their
opportunities. It doesn't hurt that neither team has a regular
goalkeeper, so the efforts to stop shots can vary greatly depending
upon the play in net. Jay's team scored first, on their first shot
of the game. They would add another goal late in the half, knocking
the ball in just before time expired.
The second half start out strong for the "A" team, as they got
all of the early shots on goal but were unable to convert on any of
their chances. Once again Jay's "B" team would score on their first
shot, making it a 3-0 game. They would keep adding on to their lead,
making the score 4-0 just moments later. They would widen the lead
to 5-0, scoring again after each team traded chances. The "A" team
would answer right back, scoring a quick goal after the final "B"
team goal, as they would avoid being shut out in this contest. That
would be all of the scoring for today, as Jay's team would take the
victory and even their record at 1-1. |
