As I was unable to attend tonight's contest between the
Riverview Ice Sharks and the Leto Falcons due to work, but I can
give you a brief summary based on the scoresheet from the game...
Drew and his Riverview Ice Sharks got off to a fast start in this
one, as Drew scored his first goal of the season a mere 16 seconds
into the game. This one came off of a rebound from a teammates shot.
What a nice way to start the game! Three minutes later Riverview
scored their second goal of the game, and followed that up 8 seconds
later with their third! Drew got back into the action 40 seconds
later, carrying the puck into the offensive zone and nailing a shot
in the lower left corner of the goal. The pace would slow a bit at
this point, but Riverview was still attacking the net. They would
score again about four minutes later, widening the lead to 5-0 at
that point. Leto finally showed some life, scoring their first goal
of the game just 15 seconds later to make it a 5-1 game. They would
narrow the lead further, to 5-2, a mere 80 seconds later. Riverview
wasn't done, however, scoring once again 40 seconds later to make it
a 6-2 game, a score that would hold until the end of the period.
The second period got off to a slower start than the first. Leto
got things started, scoring just over five minutes into the period,
making it a 6-3 contest. Riverview answer back a short while later,
to regain their four goal lead. Three minutes after the Riverview
goal, the Falcons scored once again to make it 7-4. Two and a half
minutes after that goal, Riverview would once again answer back,
making it an 8-4 game. That would be the final score for the period.
The third was another slow one, as it took over ten minutes
before a goal was scored. Thankfully (for Ice Sharks fans) it was
Riverview getting on the board, giving them a 9-4 lead. A final goal
with just 30 seconds remaining came off a Riverview stick, bumping
their lead to 10-4, a score that would stand when the final buzzer
rang. |
