Jayden and her Barrington Bolts teammates took on the Shields Middle School
Sailfish at Riverview High
School. Like the last game, Jayden was the first one off the bench,
subbing in to play defense part way through the opening half.
Today it was the Bolts that dominated play, as they managed to get on the scoreboard first,
scoring on their first kick of the game. The Bolts would get a few
more shots on goal, and they managed to net their second goal of the
game just before the whistle blew for the first water break, giving
them a 2-0 lead. With Jayden on the field, the Bolts would score two
more goals on back to back shots midway through the latter part of
the opening half, bumping the lead to 4-0. That would be the score
heading into halftime.
The second half was similar to the first. Once again it was the Bolts who
broke through first, scoring on a penalty kick after a Sailfish
handball in the box. That would the final goal of the game, as the
Bolts would cruise to a 5-0 victory, without even allowing a shot on
goal throughout the game. The victory would move them to
2-0 on the season. Way to go girls! |
