Jayden and her Florida Hawks teammates hosted a game originally
scheduled way back at the beginning of November this morning, facing
the Florida Premier FC Red
team. For the majority of the first half, it was the Hawks who
controlled the ball, though the actual shots on net were pretty
even. Despite controlling the action, it was the TBU team that got
on the board first, on a streaking play where the defense of the
Hawks didn't get back into position in time to cover the TBU forward
who snuck in from behind and was able to find the back of the net.
Thankfully it didn't take long for the Hawks to find an answer, as
they scored on their very next shot on goal, thanks to a nice pass
that caught the goalie off guard and a kick that went back across
the goal to knot the score at 1-1 just before the water break. There
would be no goals after the water break, and only one actual shot on
goal before the halftime whistle blew.
The second half was basically a repeat of the first, with the
Hawks controlling the ball, though they also dominated in shots on
goal this half too. As time wound down in the second half, Jay asked
to go in on offense, and quickly came up with two good shots on
goal, but unfortunately neither of her shorts, or any of the rest
from her teammates, were able to cross the goal line before time
could expire, and the two teams would remain tied at one goal apiece
when the final whistle blew. |
