Although this was officially the second game for the Tampa
Dynamo FC team, this was Jayden's first game with them. The game did
not get off to a good start for the Dynamo, as the Plant City side
scored on their first shot on goal, grabbing the early 1-0 lead. I
barely had time to process the first goal, and it was quickly 2-0 in
favor of Plant City. Coming out of the water break the Dynamo team
found their footing, scoring their first goal of the game on a PK,
making it a 2-1 game. Moments later the Dynamo tied the game up at
2-2 on a run down the field where the Plant City goalkeeper came out
to challenge for the ball but was beat to it, resulting in a "layup"
for an easy Tampa goal. That would be the end of the scoring in the
first half. After some strong defensive play early in the second
half, things began to unravel for the Dynamo. Things got started for
Plant City when a kick from along the endline, from an almost
impossible angle, went in off of the Dynamo keeper's hands, making
it 3-2. In rapid succession after that goal, the Plant City girls
scored on a kick that went over the Dynamo keeper's head (4-2), then
on a corner kick that got deflected in (5-2), a player on a
breakaway that easily beat the challenging Dynamo keeper (6-2), then
on a goal that happened so fast that I completely missed how it was
even scored (7-2), and then on a shot that went up and over the
Dynamo goalkeeper to make it an 8-2 game. The Tampa girls finally
plugged the dam with their second PK goal of the game, after the
Plant City keeper was called for tripping inside the box, to make
the score 8-3. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of the scoring, as
the Plant City girls would score yet again to cap the scoring. The
final whistle would mercifully blow with the score 9-3, and Dynamo
on the wrong end of it by a long shot. |
