In a rematch of the first game of the season, one that Jayden
missed due to being in Michigan with the family, the Tampa Dynamo
travelled to Wimauma today to take on the Lady Warriors. The
previous meeting resulted in a 6-0 loss for the Dynamo, and despite
the two teams trading opportunities early on - including a decent
look by Jay, back to back goals for Wimauma made it seem as though
the two sides could be heading for a repeat. Both of the Wimauma
goals came when an attacking player drove through the Dynamo
defense, kicking home relatively easy shots for goals. The Dynamo
would hold them to just the two goals going into halftime, however.
Despite getting the first two shots on net in the second half, it
was once again Wimauma who opened the scoring, this time knocking in
a rebound, after the Dynamo keeper made the initial save. That goal
made it a 3-0 game as they headed to the second water break. Coming
out of the break the Dynamo girls got their best look of the game,
when a nice pass across the field drew the Warriors goalkeeper out
of her net to play the ball. Once she missed her play, it was an
easy kick in for a Dynamo goal, narrowing the score to 3-1. Despite
a few more back and forth chances for each team, it appeared that
the game was going to end with the 3-1 margin. Unfortunately for the
Dynamo, a late move by the Wimauma attacker faked out the Dynamo
defense, resulting in a relatively easy shot up and over the Tampa
keeper's outstretched arms, making it a 4-1 game. That would be it
for scoring, as the final whistle would blow, handing the Dynamo the
loss. |
