Home Up

Wednesday, March 13th, 2024

After waking up and getting ready, we were off to Disney's Magic Kingdom for another day of fun! We began by wandering through the shops along Main Street, U.S.A. Jayden found a ring from Uptown Jewelers, and Drew found an Annual Passholder glass that he wanted for the frat house at school as well. We ended up near the Spring Roll Snack Cart in Adventureland after shopping, and since the line wasn't too long, we decided to grab a snack. We opted for the pepperoni and cheese spring rollls today, and after picking them up we decided to find a spot to settle in and enjoy our snacks as well as the lunches that we packed for the day. We ended up finding a spot to eat near Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square that was somewhat shaded, so that was where to settled in to eat.

After lunch we headed back towards Adventureland, this time to take in the Swiss Family Treehouse, which we haven't been through in a long time. I enjoyed the views from the top, but this probably something that needs to be updated in some way. Since we were in Adventureland already, we also took in the Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room show, which is another show we haven't watched for a while.

After watching the tiki birds, we headed over to Fantasyland to utilize Steve's DAS pass on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. While we waited in the extremely long "Lightning Lane", Tara headed over to Storybook Treats to get a sundae that Jayden had been wanting to try, the Rapunzel Sundae, which was shortcake with wild berry soft-serve and DOLE Whip® Lemon topped with berry compote and sugar flowers. This sundae went over very well, and Jay would definitely get it again. We finally got to enjoy the mine train, which is still one of our favorites, even if it is shorter than we'd like. While we were still in Fantasyland, we decided to cool down inside the Mickey's PhilHarmagic theater. Not all of us had seen the new(ish) addition of the scene from Coco, so it was a good opportunity to catch up.

Our next stop was back in Adventureland, at Aloha Isle, so get Drew a DOLE Whip® treat. A few others enjoyed the soft serve as well while we were here.

After filling up on ice cream, we headed back to Frontierland to hop on of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We enjoyed the ride, and took some PhotoPass pictures here as well.

At this point, some of us were feeling pretty under the weather. While Drew seemed to be on the rebound from whatever he brought down with him, Jayden and I (to a lesser extent, thankfully) were now feeling the effects of it. We decided to call it a day in the park, though we did make one additional stop before heading back to the condo. You can see what that was below...

After leaving Disney's Magic Kingdom, we decided to make a stop at Disney's Contemporary Resort to check out their annual Easter Egg display. Although not as large or impressive as the one at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, it was impressive nonetheless!

Disney's Contemporary Resort

Like the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort was hosting a chocolate Easter egg display. Here are some of our favorites...

A basket.

The Lion King.

A bunny.

A beehive.

Vanellope von Schweetz from Wreck-It Ralph.

Mr. Potato Head.

A Little Mermaid themed egg.

EVE and WALL-E from the WALL-E movie...

...including the plant in the boot inside EVE.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

The cockroach from WALL-E.

A scene from the movie Up.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea... I think?

Drew wanted to spend more time taking advantage of the various PhotoPass opportunities around the park during this trip, and I have decided to post those photos here at the end of my pictures. Here are a few that we were able to take advantage of today for you to enjoy!
