Home Up

Saturday, August 2nd, 2025

My cousin Heather and her family, Jason and Colin were in town for a few days, so Grandma Terry, Aunt Erica, and I decided to head over to see them. While their family already had breakfast plans for today, the three of us ended up making reservations for Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, as Aunt Erica had never been. We got to meet the characters and enjoy a big breakfast buffet before heading off to the parks for the day...

After Grandma Terry, Aunt Erica, and I finished up our breakfast at Chef Mickey's, we headed over to Hollywood Studios to meet up with Jason, Heather, and Colin. Once we connected with them, we did some shopping along Hollywood Boulevard as well as Sunset Boulevard. We continued down Sunset towards the end, where we headed over to see the Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After show. Although Grandma Terry, Erica, and I had all seen the show before, it was new for the rest of us. Once again, the show was quite enjoyable, with Maleficent winning once again.

After getting our fill of the villains, we headed across the park to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to do some more shopping for Colin. We didn't do much beyond this, as the non-Floridians in the group were getting hot at this point, and decided to head back to their resort to cool down and relax for a bit. Grandma Terry, Erica, and I decided to stick it out, so we headed over to the BaseLine Tap House to check out their menu of snacks and drinks. Although I wasn't overly impressed with the Bavarian Pretzel with beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard dipping sauces we got (it tasted like any other pretzel throughout the park for the most part), it was a neat experience that I had been interested in trying for quite some time.

While we were close by, Grandma Terry and I headed over to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue to go for a ride across the galaxy. Today we went pod racing, spent some time with Ahsoka, and went underwater with the Gungans. We then headed over to take in one of my favorite shows in the park, For The First Time In Forever: A "Frozen" Sing Along Celebration. I just love the jokes and the reactions of the kids in the audience.

Once we finished the show, we headed off to meet up with Jason, Heather, and Colin once again, this time at their Polynesian Village Resort bungalow.

Jason & Heather went back to their hotel with Colin, and while we did spend some more time in the park, we headed over to meet up with them to check out their bungalow at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort before we headed to the Magic Kingdom for the new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. I took some pictures of their bungalow while we were there. Enjoy!

After touring the bungalow at the Polynesian Village Resort, all six of us boarded a resort boat for the ride to the Magic Kingdom so that we could all watch the new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away for the first time together.

Following the parade, we went our separate ways to exit the park. Grandma Terry, Aunt Erica, and I were let out through a backstage area behind Casey's Corner, where we got to see some behind the scenes views that are typically hidden from view. Enjoy the photos below!
