Day 1

Home Up

The first day of the basketball clinic consisted primarily of drills for the kids to do - various dribbling activities to warm up with; a "shark tank" game (the kids had to dribble the ball until somebody knocked it out of the area or they stepped out of bounds; doing so meant that they were out); relay races; and one-handed shooting (to work on their form). Tyler and Samantha both did OK considering it has been some time since either of them really had time to practice basketball since the completion of their soccer and football seasons. As I stated on the main page, Sam's group practices first, followed by Tyler's group.

Basketball Clinic - November 7th

Samantha was listening to the directions on how to play the "shark tank" game.

Sam had fun, even though she kept picking up her basketball (which is a no-no), causing her to be out of the game.

Another picture of Sam dribbling the basketball up the court.

Sam was close to the lead during the relay race!

Here Sam is taking her one-handed set shot.

Sam is getting ready to shoot the ball - they weren't worried about making these shots, just the form that they used to shoot them.

Drew spent his time watching Tyler and Sam by playing on the mats and running around the gym.

Tyler couldn't quite get the between the legs drill during warm-ups. This was just handing the ball of between their legs, no dribbling yet.

Tyler trying out his one-handed set shot.

Tyler taking another shot while one of the coaches looks on.
