Today we decided to go in to town for a couple of Cherry Festival activities - the car show and the air show. Timing issues dictated that we do it separately (Dad and I at the car show, the rest at the beach for the air show). Here are some of my favorite car show pictures.

Haggerty Family Car Show

A nice and newly orphaned Pontiac Firebird.

A sweet Pontiac wagon that would hole the entire family.

What car show would be complete without a General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard TV show?

I nice International crew cab pickup that would also hold the whole family. If only it could pull the fifth-wheel too!

A nice Chevrolet Camaro.

At our last car show, Drew pointed out a Corvair that he really wanted. This wagon version could hold the whole family too.

How about camping in this '59 Ford and vintage camper?

A super nice 1957 Chevrolet.

Imagine the burgers that would come off of this smoking hot grill!

The ultimate tailgate motor home. A GM, even!

An old Detroit Police car (with a new Camaro next to it).

Imagine having the money to not only buy a brand new Camaro but then going out and having over $10,000 worth of "more power" added to it!

Another picture of the Lingenfelter Camaro.

While at the car show I was also able to take some pictures of some of the planes participating in the Air Show Gala over the bay.

Air Show Gala

A plane going straight up in the air...

...and coming back down in free-fall.

Four planes grouped closely together.

Look closely at this picture and you will see that the jet is actually flying upside-down!

The car show took place a fair distance from where everyone else was able to park to view the air show. Since Dad and I were dropped off, we started to walk to them while we were waiting to be picked up. Here are a few pictures I took of our walk...

Traverse City Walk

This was a small park near the car show area. On the bridge you can see the craft show going on in town.

Another view of the park, with some lofts in the background on the right.

The beach and west bay.

Another look at the beach.

The sign describing the history of Grand Traverse Bay.
