Earlier this year Drew made the decision that he wanted to
give playing hockey a chance, and since Tara & I both enjoy the sport (watching
it, anyway) we figured "why not?" After taking him to watch our friends sons,
Thomas and Andrew, play he was still interested, so we signed him up. On Sunday,
March 14th, he had his first lesson. He first needs to learn how to skate, so
his first session will be spent on the basics. Today it was learning how to get
back up after falling down.
Drew's First Skating Lesson

Drew was attempting to get up from the ice on his own.

Although a majority of the class was spent learning how to stand
up after falling, Drew did manage to fit some actual "skating" in as
well.

It seemed like all of the boys wearing yellow fell down at the
same time. Here Drew and another boy are working on standing up.

Down once again.

Drew liked to utilize the wall whenever possible - both for
getting up and moving along the ice.
