Lesson 2

Home Up

Drew's second skating lesson was on Sunday, March 21st. The class is gradually learning basic skating techniques, such as last week's getting up from a fall. Today they worked on maintaining balance while skating across the ice. Drew really did a good job with this, moving from the wall to the cones and back to the wall in the time it took most of the other kids in the class to make it from the wall to the cones. He fell a few times, which was to be expected, but he also got back up amazingly fast (to us, anyway). So far, so good with the hockey goals.

Drew's Second Skating Lesson

Drew did an excellent job skating between the wall and the cones at mid-ice today.

Another look at Drew skating towards the wall.

Drew making his way back to the cones.

Drew took a moment to chat with a classmate while they waited for the others to catch up.

Drew fell a few times, but he did a good job using his arms to balance.

Drew began to pick up a little bit of speed towards the end of class.
