Samantha's indoor soccer team, the Puma's, played their
fifth game of the season on Friday, December 3rd. After the first half, I
thought we were going to be in a game that was close right until the end, but
the girls came out strong in the second half to turn a 1-0 halftime nail-biter
into a 6-0 rout. I think a challenge from the coach may have helped fire
them up a bit... he told them they would swap players (there is enough girls to
swap out the offense and defense while the goalie stays out on the field for the
entire half) as soon as they scored a goal, and in the end it became a
competition to see who could score quickest. Whatever works, I suppose! Once
again the Puma's dominated the field of play, in both halves they may have given
up less than a handful of shots on goals while getting many opportunities to
score themselves. Sam had a couple of chances, but she needed a stronger left
foot than what she showed tonight, and ended up missing the goal wide to the
left both times. The victory evened up their record at a respectable 2-2-1 for
the season.
I do want to take a moment to apologize for the lack of
"action" shots of Sam's games. I am having a very difficult time with the
lighting in this inflatable dome, so most of these types of pictures turn out
extremely blurry. I have tried various settings on the camera, but without
success to this point. Until I figure it out, try to enjoy the pictures I am
able to take. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks!
