Samantha's soccer team had a chance for revenge in their
7th game of the season on Monday, December 13th. In what was their only rematch
of the season, the Puma's (Sam's team) played against the Waza 01 team that
defeated them 2-1 in the first game of the season. The girls played very strong
today and jumped out to a 1-0 lead early on. The score was tied at halftime 1-1,
and the girls scored early in the second half to take a 2-1 lead. Sam was
playing goal in second half, primarily because she was the only on who would
volunteer to do so. Unfortunately, with less than two minutes remaining in the
game, she let a kick sneak by her to tie the game once again, this time at 2-2.
She made plenty of other good saves, and the girls played good defense in front
of her, but on this goal they let a girl sneak in all alone and she was able to
kick in off of Sam's hands and into the net. I'm sure plenty of the other
parents are upset at Sam for not making the goal, but I am extremely proud of
her for volunteering to play goalie in a pressure packed game situation and for
doing her best when called upon. Love you Sammie!
