The kids played their best half of the season to start the
game out today, trailing by only two points at halftime, 18-16. Unfortunately
they weren't able to carry that momentum forward with them into the second half,
as the other team pulled away. We ended up losing the game today by a score of
49-26, which is still a drastic improvement from the 63-16 score the last time
we played this team. For the last several weeks the other coaches and I have
been noting significant progress during practice, but it wasn't carrying over
into the games. We started to see that in today's game, at least for the first
half. Samantha had a relatively good game once again today, playing strong
defense and performing her ball handling duties fairly well. She got off a shot,
but was a little farther away from the basket than she should have been,
resulting in a miss.
