We managed to find some time on Sunday, August 22nd, to
host some family members to celebrate Tyler's 11th birthday party. Tara made
tacos for dinner, and we followed that up be eating our choice of two cakes that
Tyler decorated himself (along with ice cream, of course). The final big hurrah
of the day was when Tyler opened up the gifts that everyone brought for him.
Tara, the kids, and I had already given Tyler our gifts (a bunch of fishing
items earlier this summer, and a movie and a few other small items on his actual
birthday) this year, so he didn't have as many to open as usual. Despite this
fact, he had a great day. Thanks to all of those who were there to make it
possible!

Tyler chose to decorate his own cakes this year. This is his
version of Homer Simpson. It reminded everyone of the early version
of the Simpsons show.

This cake was Tyler's tribute to his new favorite show - "Rivermonsters".
