Consolation Game

Home Up

Tyler's baseball team was supposed to play a consolation game on Monday, June 28th, against the third place team for the season, the Mets. Unfortunately we were left a little shorthanded, as some of the players who said that they would be at the game didn't show up. That left us with only seven players, while the other team had only the required nine. Both coaches agreed to just play a scrimmage, with the Mets giving up one of their players to make it an 8 on 8 game. Both teams tried a lot of things that they normally wouldn't do during a regular game, such as stealing home on some throws and giving kids a chance to pitch for the first time this season. As usual, Tyler went hitless today, although he did wind up with a walk in his first at bat. Nobody kept score, and they only played a couple of innings, but all of the kids had a blast playing!
