More pictures from our time inside the fort, incliding a couple of the demonstrations that we watched...

Fort Michilimackinac

Another job that the boys would have had to do was carry water in from the lake for each of the homes in the village. Here Tyler tries on the yoke used to carry buckets while Samantha watches as Drew tries the butter churn.

Drew tried on the water yoke as well.

The bread oven located outside.

A look at the village garden.

How do they get so big? A British soldier had to be at least 5'6", and Tyler is 5'3" already!

Samantha is growing quickly as well, coming up 6" shorter than her older brother at 4'9".

Drew was the last of the three kids to measure up, and he was only 6" behind his big sister, coming in at 4'3" already.

A picture of Sam (the dog) and Tyler.

Drew got a chance to be the dog, while Sam and Tyler took on more traditional roles.

Drew was a little nervous to enter the black hole, where prisoners were sometimes sent. It was pitch black in this room, with the only light coming from the camera flash.

A shot of Sam in the black hole. She too was nervous about coming in here and shutting the door.

A look at one of the more ornate buildings in the fort (at least the exterior).

Tyler trying on the uniform of a British soldier. Sam was only willing to go as far as the hat.

Tyler and Drew laying in the bed of the soldiers.

A look outside of the fort's walls reveals the Mackinac Bridge standing tall.

Two British soldiers preparing to fire the cannon on the beach.

Drew, Tyler, Samantha, and Jayden watching the demonstration in the new shirts that Sam picked out for them as their Mackinac Island souvenirs.

The cannon firing.

Tyler, Drew, Sam, and Jay posing for a picture, with most of them actually looking at the camera!

Grandma Terry and Sam volunteered for the dancing demonstration.
