An early wakeup, for a weekend anyway, at 7:00am was in order as fishing was the first thing on our agenda today. Tyler, Samantha, Drew, and I all made the short drive with Jeff to the marina, where we boarded his boat before heading out to the open waters of Saginaw Bay, as Tara stayed behind with Jayden, Becky, Thomas, and Andrew. We went out a bit further this year than we had in years past, to an area where Jeff has had good luck so far this year. Unfortunately we must bring some bad fishing luck with us, as we didn't get a bunch of nibbles today. We did catch a total of four fish, two of which were keepers and two of which had to be thrown back into the water. Each of the kids got a chance to reel in a fish, and Sam jumped at the chance to reel in a second. Although the water wasn't exactly rough today, Drew apparently didn't have his sea legs with him, as he felt sick most of the trip. After ingesting about a thousand Twizzlers, he eventually wound up expelling most of them into the water. He felt much better on the ride in after doing so.

Saginaw Bay Fishing

On the way to the fishing spot, Tyler had some fun with Samantha as Drew looked on.

Tyler, Samantha, and Drew once again on the boat.

A look at Jeff driving as Sam and Drew relax.

Drew wished he brought his sunglasses along with him, as he had difficulty seeing. He had no problem enjoying his Twizzlers, however.

Tyler playing a game on the phone as Sam stands nearby.

Drew was the first one lucky enough to reel in a fish today. His was a keeper!

Drew ready to return to his seat as Jeff puts the pole back into the water.

Sam peeking out of the hatch at the front of the boat.

Sam the duck. Maybe that would make a great 80's remake...?

Drew (more Twizzlers) and Sam.

Sam got the second fish of the day, also a keeper.

Another look at Sam and her fish.

Drew didn't feel the best, so some comforting from Dad was in order.

Tyler was in line for the next fish. Unfortunately for him his fell a little short of the minimum length.

Sam reeled in the final fish of the day, which was also thrown back in the water.

On the way back to the marina, Sam's hair was slightly affected by the wind.

Drew was feeling much better on the way back to shore.
