Parade

Home Up

Tara & I woke up early on July 4th to take the kids to the Fenton Freedom Festival parade, where we were meeting up with several of our good friends. The kids all came prepared with their bags to collect candy, but unfortunately for them we found seats near the end of the parade route, and by the floats made it this far most of the candy was long gone. Nevertheless, everyone had a great time watching the parade and hanging out together!

Freedom Festival Parade

Our group lined up along the sidewalk, waiting for the start of the parade.

Everyone loves a man with bagpipes and a skirt!

The local grocery store had this shopping kart brigade marching in the parade.

This old car carried the parade grand marshalls.

Apparently Holly has a radio controlled airplane club. Who knew?

Another classic car...

...followed by another...

...and another...

...and one more.

This monster truck crab-walked most of our street.

Although no-one knew what they were representing, a bunch of people walked the parade dressed as Disney characters and assorted other superheroes.

The horses smelled like... well, dirty horses. Jayden loved them, though!

Another classic car.

A nice looking Chevy pickup.

Jayden sitting on the curb watching the parade.

A nice Trans-Am.

And another old car, this one an Olds.

The Flagpoles Etc. truck in the parade...

...whose owner (and our friend) handed out flags and t-shirts to the crowd.

A cool looking old van. The only vehicle markings were "Fargo."
