Who would have ever thought that a team could score 15
runs despite getting only two hits... but that is exactly what the Rays did
tonight, beating the Cardinals 15-4. The coaches met before tonight's game and
decided on two rule changes: 1) No stealing home, and 2) 5 runs per inning limit
(versus 7 previously). These changes were done to speed up the games a bit, in
an attempt to play more than 3 or 4 innings per night. It didn't really affect
us too much tonight, but it could have saved some runs for us in earlier games!
Tonight Sam played a decent game, going 0-1 at the plate
(a strikeout) with two walks. She also fielded a ball and got a runner out while
playing in the field. She is more than holding her own against the boys, which I
give her all the credit in the world for because I wasn't sure that she would be
able to handle it. I am very proud of her for doing so, though!
