Home Up

I didn't get to ride up north with the family today like I normally would, thanks to my crappy new work schedule, so I don't have a ton of commentary to share about today's activities. I do know that Tara managed to successfully drive the truck and fifth-wheel to the campground without any incidents (except for the kid's bathroom activities...). Dad helped her park it on the site and level it out before she went about the business of setting everything up for the weekend. The kids, as always seemed to be the case, never stopped bugging to do things - like ride their bikes and go to the park.

After eating hot dogs and macaroni-n-cheese for dinner Tara asked which of the kids wanted to go in to the tractor pull, and surprisingly none of them were interested. While I must say that I was a little disappointed that they didn't want to go, it didn't hurt my feelings not to have to spend the money on it either. Instead the kids opted to ride their bikes around the campground before deciding to go to town to watch the fireworks display. Drew didn't want to go, so he stayed behind with Grandpa Gary & Grandma Gary while Tara took Tyler, Samantha, and Jayden to town.

The three pictures below are from the fireworks display. While they all didn't turn out perfectly (Tara had the small handheld camera, not the best for taking nighttime pictures - plus, the street light in most of the shots didn't do her any favors), I included some of the ones I thought were cool.

Deckerville Homecoming Fireworks

The effect of this picture looks as though three of those inflatable dancing people are watching the fireworks display!

A heart firework is visible in this shot.

Another shot of the fireworks display.
