Here are more pictures from the Mock Olympics...

Mock Olympics

Samantha waiting for her turn to try and...

...blow the ping-pong ball down the court with a straw...

...just like Tyler did two years ago.

The next event required Sam and her teammates to shuffle across the floor on paper plates. Usually this is done on a wooden floor, but this was done in the gym - the plates didn't hold up too well here, as they almost all had holes in them when the kids were done.

Sam jump-roping her way across the court in yet another relay race.

Another shot of Sam with the jump rope.

At the end the kids were required to stack cups into a pyramid. Here Sam is doing her best to get done quickest.

A look at Sam taking the cups down when she was done.

In this race the kids had to walk on their hands and feet, collect a puzzle piece at the halfway point, and continue to the end. There they would drop off the puzzle piece and head back to the start.

Once all of the puzzle pieces were collected, the entire team had to race to the end...

...and attempt to put the puzzle together, just as Tyler's class had to do.

Once the Mock Olympics were complete, the kids said goodbye to their parents and headed back to the village. Usually the teachers pass out a treat at night, but tonight Sam got to do the honor for her birthday. Instead of the treats provided by the camp, she got to hand out homemade cookies (which her mother slaved over - thanks Mom!). She was thrilled with the opportunity to provide something special to each of her classmates on her very special day. In fact, she told the teachers that this was the "best birthday ever!" Of course I didn't take any pictures of this, so I guess I am the "worst dad ever!"

After the treats were headed out Tara headed home with Jayden, while everyone at camp gathered around a campfire for some fun. Most of the kids stuck around to sing songs before heading off to play games in the dark. It was well after 10:00pm before we headed inside, which is supposed to be time for lights out. The kids had a blast, though!
