This game took place at the same time as Samantha's game,
so I split my focus between her game on one field and Drew's game on an adjacent
field. The good news for Drew and his teammates is that they staged a furious
comeback late in the game. Depending on who you listen to, there is bad news as
well... Drew's coach officially called this game a loss, as the Holly Lanes team
scored a run as the third out (a force-out) was being made at third base. As far
as I can tell from all of the research I did, because the out was indeed a
force-out, then the run doesn't count. Because of this, I am counting this game
as a tie. I think there was two reasons the coach called it a tie: 1 - the other
team was winless going into this game, and the loss didn't hurt the RBC team in
the standings, and 2 - he was slightly disappointed with the boys focus level
tonight.
On a personal level, Drew had a rough night at the plate
tonight, going 0-4 with 4 strikeouts. He seems to be swinging under every pitch
that comes his way (much like his brother used to do), but I am not sure where
this came from. He had done so well this far into the season! Let's just hope it
doesn't continue!
