On Monday, January 9th, Drew's Cross Ice group played in a
scrimmage style game instead of holding their usual practice session. They broke
the kids up into two groups, as evenly matched by jersey's as they could be, and
played hockey. Drew's group wound up playing 4v4, since they had 4 players with
red jerseys. Because of the combination of blue and white jerseys, Drew's group
had to skate every other shift while the opposite team skated every third shift.
This meant Drew got a lot of ice time tonight. He started out strong, scoring
two early goals. He was flying up and down the ice tonight, outskating almost
every other player on the ice. You could tell that it was catching up to him by
the end, though, as he began to slow down a bit and he spent more time picking
himself up off the ice after a fall. All in all I think he did a very good job
tonight. I am amazed at the amount of progress that he has made since his first
day. After skating with him a few times I have a new appreciation for how hard
what he is doing really is. Great job, Drew!
