Tara & I took Tyler, Samantha, Drew, and Jayden to Fenton
for the annual Freedom Festival parade on July 4th. We were the first to arrive,
so we found a parking spot and a location along the sidewalk to watch the
parade. We were later joined by Melissa and her kids, Hannah, Taren, and Tevin.
Colleen also came with her kids, Noah and Dani. The last family to join us was
Jeff & Carrie, along with their kids Joe and Olivia. We did our best to stay
cool on this blistering day while enjoying the parade.
Once the parade was over, we headed our separate ways.
Tara & I took the kids for a walk around the Community Center to the church
across the street, which was nicely providing free sno-cones which absolutely
hit the spot. We then headed over to the bank, which was giving away free root
beer floats. The kids were in heaven, but it was also time for us to escape the
heat and head home for a while...
