Things got off to a bit of a rough start for the '04
Lapeer Storm at the Blue Water Stars Tournament in Port Huron. The boys (and
girls) weren't able to get any offensive momentum headed their way, and they
couldn't maintain control of the puck for any length of time. There isn't really
much to add, except that the opposing coach eventually had his kids limit their
shots on goal, otherwise the score likely would have been worse. I'm not sure if
this is an official rule that we will be seeing all year or not, but the score
for this game is officially recorded as a 6-0 defeat, despite the fact that we
gave up 9 goals on the day. It is possible that this is just a tournament rule,
so we shall see. Hopefully we won't run in to this situation too many more
times!
