Jayden's Field Day

May 17th, 2013

Jayden's kindergarten class participated in their first ever field day on the afternoon of Friday, May 17th. In the past the lower grades in the elementary would all come outside together to participate in the events class by class. This year they changed things up and sent each class out separate, and the kids were paired up and allowed to go to the activity that they wanted to participate in. They had a list of all of the activities pinned to their shirts so that they could be sure that they didn't miss any. Jayden sure had a lot of fun trying out each of the various activities, and she can't wait to do it all over again next year!

Jayden's Kindergarten Field Day

Jayden racing against her partner in the "50 yard dash" event.

Jay's big sister Samantha volunteered to help out with today's activities - she manned the hurdle event.

Jayden making her way across the hurdles to the turn-around point...

...and then leaping across the first set of hurdles...

...and then the second before crossing the finish line at the end.

Jay trying to keep the nearly deflated ball between her legs during the kangaroo hop race.

Another picture of Jayden "kangaroo hopping!"

Jay doing the crab walk...

...and nearing the finish line.

Jayden did a good job dribbling the soccer ball...

...to the cone and back to the finish line.

Jayden also did a good job balancing the tennis ball in her racket, only dropping it a couple of times...

...before she successfully crossed the finish line.

Jay did a good job with the bean-bag toss, getting 4 out of 5 into the target.

Jayden had trouble getting the soccer ball into the net for some reason...

Jayden jumped out to an early lead in the sack race...

...and seemed to be cruising along...

...until she went down just before the finish line!
