Today the La Forza girls would be facing a Mid-MI Gators
team that had scored 14 goals in their previous two games, so expectations were
set appropriately going in to the start of the match. Sam got the nod in the
field at the start of today's game, and like her teammates she played strong and
aggressive throughout. The game turned out to be a very good one, with the
action going back and forth. While the team managed to keep the score low, they
couldn't quite get the all-important goal when they needed it. While they
managed to get one past the other team's keeper, they also gave up a bad pass
for the easy go-ahead goal, putting our goalie in a position where there was
little she could do to stop it. The tournament ended for the girls with the 2-1
loss. Regardless, I thought that they made huge strides over the weekend, and I
can only hope that they manage to remember this and keep up this style of
play...
