Game 1

Drew and his '05 Lapeer Storm teammates began their tournament on Friday at the Chi Mukwa hockey arena against the '05 Cofra team from Canada. Nobody really knew what to expect in this contest, facing an unknown team. While the ultimate outcome wasn't favorable to the Storm team, the game was a closer battle than the score indicates. There was lots of back and forth action between both teams, but the players on the Cofra team (and one player in particular) capitalized on their chances while the storm players struggled in that regard. They did manage to score two goals, which tied their regular season high to date.

Drew was selected to be Captian for today's game, and he sported the "C" on his sweater. He played pretty well overall, getting an assist on one of his team's two goals. There were a few times when he probably could have skated a little harder, but overall all he and his teammates gave their best effort.
