The way that the '05 Lapeer Storm players started today's
game gave me hope that this was going to be a good, close battle between two
teams. After getting some quality looks at the goal in the first period but
being unable to convert, they found themselves down 2-0 going into the second.
Things started to slip away for Drew and his teammates at that point, as they
continued to miss the net while they had some breakdowns that allowed the Jimmy
Johns team to score an additional four goals. The third period didn't get any
better, despite an early goal for the Storm team, which brought the score to
6-1. From that point on it was all negative for the Storm, as they gave up 6
more goals, leading to the final score of 12-1. Drew played an ok game overall -
I think that he is getting more comfortable on defense. He wasn't on the ice for
the vast majority of goals allowed, but it's difficult to say if that was
because he was playing good defense or if he got lucky... I'm hoping for good
defense!
