October 24th, 2014

After the first game of the tournament most of the players and their families were feeling pretty hungry. It was decided that lunch would be at The Antlers Family Dining for anyone who was interested in going. This was a restaurant that Tara had found that she wanted to try, so we decided to join the group. It was definitely an interestingly decorated place, with mounted animals all over the place. While we enjoyed the food, we all agreed that it wasn't anything so spectacular that we would find ourselves rushing right back to have it again.

Some of the team decided to have lunch at The Antlers restaurant.

A look at some of the scenery inside of the restaurant.

Tara and Drew were fond of this two headed calf, but Jay wasn't particularly thrilled by it.

What do you know... there are still Michigan fans who will show their face in public!

An old Indian made birch bark canoe.

A baby skunk.

Drew and a teammate playing a game of bubble hockey.

It is a tradition in Sault Ste. Marie to go trick-or-treating downtown the Friday before Halloween, and we had a birds-eye view from our hotel room for the action. We watched all of the people in their cool costumes for quite some time before decided that the kids would enjoy joining the action. We dressed them up (Jay in a costume, Drew in his hockey jersey) and headed down to the street. The kids collected quite a bit of candy and had fun while doing so. I'm not certain, but this may have been the highlight of their trip!

Trick-Or-Treating

We could see a bowl of Kraft macaroni-and-cheese from our hotel window.

A look down the street in front of our hotel, closed off for the action.

Tara & I thought that Samantha would love this Starbucks costume!

This block was a little more full of people out trick-or-treating.

This mousetrap costume was one of our favorites.

This creepy fellow happened to glance over during the zombie walk.

This sign was located outside our hotel, welcoming the hockey players to town.
